Diamondback Moth
– Adult moths are gray and measure 1/3″ long; males have wings with rows of 3 diamond shaped spots that are yellow down the middle of their back. Their wings, although folded, flare outward and upward towards their tips. The back wings have fringe-like hairs. The larvae rarely exceed 1/3″ long and are light yellow to green in color with upright hairs, black in color, over their entire body. Pupa rest in a cocoon so thin that it is almost transparent. The pupa measures about 3/8″ long. This is a chewing insect. Larvae will feed on bottom sides of leaves, leaving behind holes in the foilage.
