Tomato Pinworm-
Adults are gray colored moths about 1/4″ long and larvae are orange in the beginning and then they become purple to black as they mature. Larvae are about 1/4″ in size. The feeding habits of the larvae cause damage similar to that of the leafminer’s. They will eventually destroy the fruit and stems of the vegetable plant. Infected fruit are useless for canning purposes. This is a chewing insect.
