Most classic, large-leafed “Fancy Leaf” caladiums thrive best in partial shade to full shade.

• Sun Limit: They should only receive 2 to 4 hours of gentle morning sun, followed by shade for the rest of the day, or be placed under bright, dappled all-day tree canopy light.

• The Risk: Direct afternoon Texas sun will scorch their fragile leaves, causing holes with brown edges (known as “melting”).
